Prior to this, Jaco was Sr Advisor Digital & Commercial Strategy at OMV Petrom Downstream Gas, where he was driving the digital transformation towards a fully digital customer experience, back office optimization & automation and change management. This built on his previous role as Chief Innovation for OMV Petrom, where he drove the change to a more innovative and digitally dexterous company by building a strong internal governance network and external execution partner network.

In his four years at Royal Dutch Shell, he helped their transition to a more Open Innovation approach. He re-invigorated initiatives like GameChanger and External Technology Collaborations, and set up internal tribes and learning programs to drive culture change. He built Shell TechWorks, an innovative outfit that maximizes the use of external technologies in a ‘skunkworks’ approach.
